Owasso Porcelain Veneers
Is there something about your smile that makes you feel embarrassed to show it off? A set of beautiful porcelain veneers can transform your smile from the very moment they are bonded in place.
Dr. Heng Lim can provide you with one or more custom-designed veneers to help you improve the appearance of your smile.
Porcelain veneers can:
- Mask stubborn stains that don’t respond to teeth bleaching
- Give unevenly shaped teeth a uniform size and appearance
- Make crooked teeth appear perfectly straight
- Improve the texture of teeth with rough enamel
- Conceal small chips on the edges of teeth
- Cover up small gaps between teeth
Unlike dental crowns, veneers are very conservative and do not cover the entire tooth. Instead, a veneer is a thin shell of porcelain that covers the front part of your tooth. Porcelain is a material that can replicate the appearance of natural tooth structure so well that even experts examining them from the front cannot tell them from real teeth. All of this makes porcelain veneers an excellent choice if you wish to totally make over the way your smile looks.
The Veneers Smile Design Process
Your treatment will begin with a comprehensive dental health evaluation by Dr. Lim. As a whole-health dentist, Dr. Lim wants to be certain that any restorative or cosmetic treatments he provides for you will complement or even enhance the health and function of your bite. Accordingly, he will have a CT scan, photos, and digital X-rays taken of your teeth so that he can gather as many insights about your dental health as possible.
Next, Dr. Lim will sit down with you to go over the findings and discuss your cosmetic dental treatment options. He will ask you questions to determine what you hope to achieve by getting veneers. We recommend you come to this appointment with a photo of a smile that you love. This will help you show Dr. Lim how you want your teeth to look after your veneers are placed.
Placing Your Porcelain Veneers
If your teeth need to be prepared, at your next appointment, Dr. Lim will prepare your teeth by carefully removing a thin layer of enamel from the front of each tooth that will be getting a veneer. This will be done after he administers a local anesthetic, so you will not feel any pain. Dr. Lim will have some provisional (temporary) veneers ready for you, and he will place these on your teeth to protect them while your permanent porcelain veneers are being fabricated.
You will then get to do a “trial run” with your provisional veneers while you wait and you can let Dr. Lim know what you like and dislike about their appearance. He will incorporate your feedback into the permanent veneer design process to ensure that you love the color and shape of the final result.
Once you’ve approved the appearance of your provisional veneers, Dr. Lim will send your case to his master ceramist to duplicate their appearance in porcelain. This dental artisan has received similar training to Dr. Lim, so they work together in harmony to design and then craft consistently beautiful porcelain veneers.
Once your veneers are ready, we will call you back into our office to try them on. Dr. Lim will place them on your teeth and ask you what you think of them. Once you are happy with the way they look and feel, your veneers will be permanently bonded to your teeth.
Dr. Lim’s Beautiful Smile Guarantee
By being thorough in his smile design process, applying your feedback, and working with the best dental ceramist, Dr. Lim is confident that your finished veneers will be perfect. But if you feel that your veneers aren’t quite what you expected when you try them on, Dr. Lim will make the needed adjustments or even send them back to the ceramist before bonding them to your teeth. You have to love them before he bonds them on—that is his beautiful smile guarantee.
